THE 2014 ARIA Awards kicked off with a slew of young, hot talent walking the red carpet at Star City stage in Sydney. And as far as the fashion was concerned, this year it was all about the midriff.
Katy Perry decided to walk the red carpet even after her run-in with Aussie media this week, One Direction and Aussie Boys 5 Seconds of Summer left the crowd screaming so hard they cried, while Delta Goodrem made a reappearance after what seemed like months off the Aussie scene.
Katy Perry led the charge of midriffs down the red carpet wearing Western Australian designer Jamie Lee Major. The one-off crystal encrusted two piece was hand embellished with beading and took Major approximately 400 hours to create at a retail price of $6600.
There was no Sia or Iggy Azalea, the 2 biggest Australian Acts this year, but visiting Brit popstar Charli XCX was the ambassador for Iggy’s hit Fancy, seeing as she sings the hook. She told us she wouldn’t be storming the stage to accept any awards on Iggy’s behalf. She looked fab in an ultra-garish beaded frock, the sort only a pop star could pull off.
